When I take Miksang photographs I shoot from the heart. I mean this literally. While the actual seeing and looking through the lens is clearly centered in my eyes, the feeling and connection between me and what I am shooting comes from much lower down in my body--literally my heart and chest area. When I set out to shoot Miksang photographs it is as if I am finally pulled completely into my body and my sense perceptions (all of them, not just the visual field) become much more vivid and direct. In February and March I travelled to Chile and Brazil and I took many Miksang photographs. The process of taking these pictures created a space for me to jump into my sense perceptions completely. And now, looking at the slides allows me to feel the texture and immediacy of those amazing perceptions again.

I love to look at the Miksang photos of others because it is such an open gateway into the world of that person. You can literally feel what they feel, see what they see by looking at the Miksang images they are sharing.
